Brightening the Lives of Abused Children |

Our Community's Children in Need
The children that benefit from your NightLights Donation are all abused, neglected or severely at-risk children being served through affiliate youth agencies in Larimer County. All grants that are distributed for their emergency needs and services are pre-screened to make certain that all other funding resources are exhausted or otherwise unavailable and will provide for specific youth services.
The extent of this need is more significant than most people realize. Today in the United states on average 4 children will DIE from being abused and 2,700 children will be physically and sexually abused today…..Tomorrow it starts all over again.
The State of Colorado has ranked as high as the 3rd worst state in the nation for child abuse deaths per capita, and Larimer County fields nearly 6,000 reports of child abuse each year.

Yet, many people continue to remain unaware that we face such a severe problem in our beautiful cities. This hidden population of children needs our community to recognize the problem of child abuse as a serious issue and they need us to take a stand against it by telling their stories, supporting their needs and supporting the 18 local youth agencies that serve them.
YOU can help us bring a child out of the darkness and silence of abuse. Give a child a NightLight today, then join us at the 14th Annual NightLights Celebration on December 1st and help us countdown to LIGHT UP THE NIGHT for abused children.

Turning Point
“On behalf of the Larimer County Department of Human Services, I would like to extend my greatest appreciation to the Realities For Children NightLights Sponsors. Everyday, in our community, children are identified as being in harm’s way due to the neglect and abuse they are subjected to. At times, it is disheartening to see so many kids and families suffering. It takes a community, not a single agency, to develop solutions to help kids and families. Realities For Children has truly made a difference in the lives of so many. Thank you for supporting our efforts to protect our most vulnerable citizens.”
Angela Mead - Deputy Division Manager, Larimer County Department of Human Services
