NIGHTLIGHTS RAISES MORE THAN $43,000 FOR ABUSED CHILDREN

20,000 LED lights shined for abused and neglected children locally at Realities For Children’s Tenth Annual NightLights’ celebration on December 1st. Located at 531 S. College Ave., more than 1,200 people attended this free community event to enjoy tasty treats, warm winter beverages, hot Qdoba soup, live musical performances by: CarolAnn, the Centennial Children’s Chorus and Cheri Lamperes and the lighting of the 50 foot one-of-a-kind NightLights tree, featuring 20,000 LED lights -animated to music.
NightLights generates funds and awareness for at-risk children by having local businesses and families sponsor a light on the NightLights’ tree. This year more than 430 lights were sponsored by businesses, families and in memory of loved ones to raise over $43,000 for abused, neglected and at-risk children. Realities For Children will serve more than 1,000 at-risk youth this December and over a dozen children’s agencies in the New Year.

It is not too late to help to take a child out of the dark, local businesses and families can still sponsor a NightLight. Tree lights are $100 each, and tree light sponsors will be recognized in the January editions of Fort Collins Forum, Fort Collins Now, The Homesteader, Northern Colorado Women Magazine, Rocky Mountain Parent Magazine, Thrifty Nickel and on www.RFCnightlights.com.

The Realities For Children Triumph Awards Fund is a component fund of the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado, a 501c3 charitable organization. Donations to this fund are tax deductible. All tree light sponsorships help abused and at-risk children in need in Larimer County.

The Realities For Children NightLights’ tree will light up the night every evening throughout December in honor of our community’s dedication to serving abused, neglected and at-risk children.

NightLights grants will be designated to local youth agencies that serve
abused and at-risk children in January 2008.
